I Borrowed Money To Attend The BET 2024 In Los Angeles.. Am Going Through A Lot – Makhadzi
Award-wining singer and songwriter, Makhadzi has made a revealed that she borrowed money to make sure that she appeared on the just concluded BET Awards 2024.
The singer disclosed this to the public during her appearance on MacG’s show Podcast and chill.
Limpopo-born while making her comments disclosed how she borrowed money to attend the 19th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, where she won the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act award.
Despite facing financial challenges, including a significant debt to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) that was reduced from R6.6m to R2.7m with the help of a tax consultant, Makhadzi managed to cover her travel expenses.
During an appearance on Podcast and Chill, she shared her struggles, stating that she often has to take loans to maintain her superstar image.
Makhadzi’s dedication to her career and belief in herself drove her to make this sacrifice.
Makhadzi: “I’m going through a lot, I had to borrow money from mashonisa (loan shark) to come to the BET Awards,”
